Updates on closed trades last week (29 July to 2 Aug)
Just suffered the worst week in my trading career. 7 existing positions were in the red. 5 of which hit my preliminary stop loss, 1 got stop out and another 1 gap past stop loss. Trading over earnings seasons had proven itself to be truly treacherous. In addition to market uncertainties, there comes the Trump's tariffs. It is a really difficult market to navigate and for my current trading strategy to play out nicely due to the constant whipsaws.
I implemented a new strategy recently to exit early when the stocks' momentum is not in favour of my intended trade direction. Therefore, you will see stocks that are exited pretty early with a loss of less than 1R. Based on my back-tested data, this will help to reduce my losses but still enabling me to ride my winners to my profit target without being whipsawed and stop out.
(1R stands for the % capital loss per trade. Usually it's 1% of your capital. So if you are trading $10,000, 1R = $100)
The worrying problem is in the recent 2 weeks, I am not seeing any trades that are hitting TP. I don't know if it's normal but I am pretty sure I followed my trading setup without any deviation from my pre-determined rules and strategy. I hope it's just the statistics that contributed to this losing streak but this does messes up with my psychology. I think most traders go through such roller coaster emotions once in a while. Nevertheless, I still practice my risk management diligently, and that has been preventing me from hitting any risk of ruins. Statistics, statistics, statistics. I am depending on you.

Trading opportunities next week (5 August to 9 August)
As you can see, I don't win all my trades all the time. Only risk management can ensure that I continue to run this trading business in a sustainable manner. Capitalising on the law of large number to your advantage and risking only 1 to 2% capital per trade. In addition, dissociate your feeling with money by stating R as the unit of loss per trade. 1 R = 1 to 2 % of your capital per trade. Each trade shall be cap to 1R loss unless there is an unfortunate gap up/down in the stocks.
Stocks to go long: None (Yea, something is brewing)
Stocks to go short: THC, FRTA, REKR, VRNS, ESTC, CCRN, TITN
